Tyler is not only the National Mutt Day Mascot, as an AmbassaDOG to mixed breeds everywhere...but he's also the fur child of two-time Emmy Nominated actress Charlotte Ross.

Tyler is 4 1/2 years old.

He was adopted from the South Center Los Angeles City Shelter.

It is suspected that Tyler is a mix of hound and pointer.

He loves ALL kinds of treats...especially crumbs from cookies that his human brother, Max, drops on the floor while eating.

Tyler LOVES, LOVES to swim. In the Summer, he swims in his Mommy's pool many times during the day and it's beautiful to watch as he glides so smoothly through the water and jumps in with such excitement!

Some of Tyler's favorite places to go are on hikes thru the Santa Monica Mountains. Throwing his dog toys to his Mommy and retrieving them, as well as playing tug-of-war with them with his canine brother, Taco.

Tyler loves playing with other dogs at the dog park and LOVES to go to Sam's Boarding in Studio City when his Mommy travels because they treat him so well and give him hikes daily.

Tyler LOVES it when his human family and friends get on the floor!! Immediately he jumps down in wild excitement as now you are on a level playing field and he'll want to play and wrestle for hours.

Tyler is Max's best friend! They play for hours and hours...and, Tyler LOVES to cuddle. Although, he seems like (and is) a relatively large sized dog, he thinks of himself as a Pekinese and will try to get his WHOLE body on your lap if you allow him and LOVES to cuddle on his Mommy's bed with her every morning and evening.

If Tyler could be a celebrity, it would be Clint Eastwood. Classy, talented, humble, strong, loving, forgiving and very even tempered and grateful.

If Tyler had a job, it would be helping other dogs find a loving home, as he knows what it's like to be in a shelter, afraid, lonely and cold. And also, how safe and rewarding it is to be in someone's home that he can call family. Like most rescued shelter dogs, he is forever grateful and would want the same for all the other less fortunate dogs out there.

Tyler is the perfect example as to why shelter animals make the best pets for a home with kids and lots of love to give. Even if Max pulls his tail (by accident, of course!) or gets his toe stepped on mistakenly, he NEVER responds with anger.. He has so much love to give and his only intention is to try and give more love to everyone in the home. Hi family is so thankful everyday, that they went to their city shelter and rescued Tyler, as he will be a cherished family member for years to come and they couldn't feel more grateful and lucky that Tyler is in their lives!
